Buffy science

Leslie left a comment on my post about scientists on TV, asking about the various (computer) scientists on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I don’t remember much of Buffy at all, so I could only give half an answer, but the discussion reminded me that I had recently come across something that Leslie and other Buffy fans might enjoy. Jennifer Ouellette of the wonderful Cocktail Party Physics blog has a book coming out next month called “The Physics of the Buffyverse“. The book uses examples from Buffy to explain various scientific concepts. Jennifer studied English, and then ended up becoming a science writer. That probably makes her the perfect person to communicate science, because she isn’t burdened by a too subject specific background.
